Note that we also display Archived strains on our website as the information can be useful - most strains listed as Archived are dead, occasionally those with a recent archive date are new and not yet available to purchase.

Culture and Media Prices and Availability

Note that as CCAP is funded as a NERC Service and Facility, we are able to offer a reduced cost of supply to our academic users.

For academic and non-profit making organisations: GBP 50.00 per culture or per unit of medium.

For commercial customers: GBP 120.00 per culture or per unit of medium.

The prices above apply to the standard starter cultures and media (stocks or premade) available to purchase online. Choose the appropriate Academic/Commercial option at Checkout. For any other volume or query please contact us.

Most of our strains are subcultured to order, please allow 3-4 weeks from the time of ordering. If ordering small seaweeds such as Ectocarpus (which can be slow growing) or cultures that are cryopreserved the waiting time may be longer. If cultures are required urgently we may be able to advise on alternative strains.
