***Online Purchasing and Price Review ***
After several years with no price increases, CCAP has reviewed charges and from 1st January 2010, cultures and media now cost 40GBP per strain/media item to non-profit making customers and 80GBP to commercial customers. A 10% discount will be deducted for commercial sales of more than 10 strains.
We will shortly be introducing an online payment system, where customers can order cultures and, at the same time, securely provide credit card payment details.

Supply of Cultures and Media
For all algae, CCAP normally supplies 2 x 10 ml tubes of culture in liquid medium.
For protozoan cultures, either 1 agar plate, 1 tube or 1 culture flask will be sent.
For aquaculture strains, CCAP normally supplies 1 x 60 ml tube of culture in liquid medium.
One unit of a medium comprises non-sterile stocks sufficient to make 5 litres of final medium.

Normally 4 weeks notice is requested, although large orders and orders for cryopreserved material may need longer. Supply of material at shorter notice cannot be guaranteed. When cultures are required on a certain date, please indicate clearly, otherwise cultures will be sent as soon as they are ready.

Within the UK: GBP3.00 postage & packing (or cost if higher), sent by First Class Post
Elsewhere: Express Post or Courier delivery at cost plus GBP2.00 packing

Retail Tax (VAT)
Within the UK: VAT at 17.5% is added on the whole order
Within the EU: VAT at 17.5% on the whole order, if you do not supply a VAT registration number
Outside the EU: No VAT

Please send your purchase order number with your completed order form. You may pay by credit card or cheque. If paying by credit card include your card type (VISA, MasterCard, Delta, Electron or Switch), card number, expiry date, cardholder's name and card billing address. We now also need the 3-digit security code which can be found on the back of the card.
Or we will send you an invoice 3 weeks after despatch of the cultures. You may pay by credit card as above, bank transfer or with a GB Pounds cheque drawn on a British bank made payable to SAMS Research Services Ltd. You must pay all bank charges. Full details of how to pay will be sent with our invoice.
Before ordering, you should contact your local authorities to check whether import restrictions are imposed on these cultures. If special regulations apply in your country, you must obtain any required documentation (eg import permit) and send it to CCAP with your order, so that we can send it with the package.
***Publications***
If you publish anything with or about CCAP cultures, you are requested to please cite the CCAP strain number in the correct format (eg Tetraselims chui CCAP 66/22A ) in your paper and send us your reprints / pdfs if possible. We are continually updating our database and we would like to include bibliographic information where available. Having your papers listed here will also increase their impact factor.
Ordering Pathogens
Please read the important information on ordering pathogenic strains.
Some pathogenic strains are held at CCAP in both axenic and monoxenic culture (see 'Culture' entry in strain data, axenic cultures are normally grown in PPG medium, monoxenic cultures in NN medium with E. coli food source). If you order one of these strains, please state your preferred culture condition on the order form.
Before ordering, you must contact your local authorities to check whether import restrictions are imposed on these cultures. If special regulations apply in your country, you must obtain any required documentation (eg import permit) and send it to CCAP with your order, so that we can send it with the package.

Please specify the week in which you would like to receive the cultures. We will confirm the delivery date. If a strain is held at CCAP in both axenic and monoxenic culture, please specify on the form which you require.
Postage & Packing for Pathogens
Within the UK - GBP20.00, sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery (next day)
Elsewhere - GBP20.00 packing & handling is charged by CCAP. Cultures sent by Courier.

If cultures arrive in an unsatisfactory condition they will normally be replaced free of charge if we are notified within 14 days of despatch; however we do have to charge for the costs of postage and packaging of resupplied items.
