The CCAP is an established major international supplier of marine algae for use in marine fish hatcheries for 'green water', as food organisms for invertebrate larval first feeding, or as food for larval shellfish.
All the strains listed below are easy to maintain, of a suitable size and almost all contain significant amounts of the highly unsaturated fatty acids EPA 20:5(n-3) [eicosapentanoic acid] or DHA 22:6(n-3) [docosahexaenoic acid].

The rotifer Brachionus plicatilis CCAP 5010/4 is also available. The cell length is approximately 250 µm.
A standard aquaculture starter culture (volume 60 ml) is normally supplied, but the CCAP will be happy to supply larger quantities if requested. There is a discount of 10% on all commercial orders for 10 or more aquaculture. As large stocks of all the above strains are maintained, cultures will normally be available for despatch on the Monday following confirmation of the order. Not all of these strains are axenic.
